iBooks Updates and The Swift Programming Language

When Apple released Swift, a new programming language, it also released a book on iBooks, the Swift Programming Language, which you can use to learn Swift.

With each release of Xcode 6, there have been changes to Swift, and accordingly, changes to the Swift Programming Language book. It's great that they're keeping the book up to date, that makes life a lot easier for people who might pick up a later beta and the book.

However, it has also clearly taught me that I have no idea how to tell if an iBook has an udpate waiting, and whether or not the version I have is the latest version.

If I go into my purchases on the iBookstore, and click the cloud download icon beside the book, I do get an update. But if I come back later and I don't remember if I've already updated, then it looks exactly the same.

Is there something I'm missing? Is there an easy way to figure out if the Swift Programming Language book has a new update that you don't already have that is ready to download? Let me know.
